How do I create a class?

Teachers can create classes to invite, connect with, and engage students and families

Creating and accessing classes in SpacesEDU is easy!

If you are from a licensed school or district, your class may already have been created , with your students pre-enrolled. Thanks, IT team!

If not, you can create a class by clicking Create Class in the bottom right and following the prompts to generate one.

If you have an empty class called My First Class, you can edit the class name and customize your settings by clicking on the name of your class and selecting Edit.

​Note: If you are brought into the feed, simply click the Home button in the top left to see your class and create additional classes.

How do I create additional classes? 

Teachers can have up to 20 active (unarchived) classes at a time in their SpacesEDU account. To create more classes, simply follow the steps below:

    1. In your teacher account, navigate to the top of the header, and click the home            button, this will open up the classes panel. 

   2. Within the class panel, click + Add Class.

From here, follow the steps below to set up your class:

  1. Give your class a name and select the applicable grade(s)

  2. Give your class a cool avatar

  3. Click Add Class

  4. You will be redirected to your new classroom where you can start inviting students

Additional settings available from the homepage by clicking the 3 grey dots beside your class include:

  1. Edit Class:

    1. Edit the class name, grade(s), and/or class avatar

    2. Modify Class Settings to allow reactions, students to delete their own posts and/or to activate a sample student

    3. Toggle Curriculum Tags & Goals options

    4. Don't forget to click Save Changes at the bottom of the page

  2. Archive Class: Your class will still be accessible from the Archived tab (top right).

  3. Leave Class: Permanently leave the class. The class will not be available under the Archived tab.
